Prayer and Praise
Here's what God's been doing through your prayers:
* grace in ACTION usa growing pains
Launching: Who knew it would take so long?
* The Happy Church moved into their new location
You can see the new property (inside & out) by clicking here... or visit their website; www.thehappychurch.org to learn more about their ministry. The Deloes were in Jackson in March to see it and take goods for the next Thrift Sale. Here are some ways to pray:
WAYS TO PRAISE:
*God's wonderful provision for the purchase of the church property
*The great location; next to a trailer park and a Head Start House. It's a "mission field right next door."
* The building is in excellent condition! (A nice kitchen, rooms for SS and tutoring classes, and no mold!!)
WAYS TO PRAY:
*Pastor Mike and Connie; Pastor John and Chris, who serve so faithfully; both men work full time besides pastoring and shepherding the church. Connie & Chris lead the children and youth ministries
*Growth in attendance; ask God to send families who have stable incomes and will support the work
*Help in renovating a vacant house on the property for a youth center & housing visiting short term teams
*Enough funds to send the Tabors and several teens to youth conference
*Consistent and generous giving for the additional mortgage payment
* God said "No" to The Alpaca Mission in regard to the Ohio property
WAYS TO PRAISE
When God closes a door. . . knock on another!! Kathy McGuire, from The Alpaca Mission, writes: "My pastor, Steve Makofka introduced me to Morning Star Fiber, (in another part of Ohio.) I don't know how we as The Alpaca Mission may network with this fiber processing mill. However after reading their "vision" I think we may be compatible in using alpacas to help others and serve the Lord. We have been emailing. trying to find a mutually convenient time to get together." Visit their website: www.morningstarfiber.com
WAYS TO PRAY:
*Ask God to make a way soon for The Alpaca Mission to begin harvesting "fiber boys" fleece.
*Pray for patience and perseverance and continued "pressing toward the goal" for Kathy McGuire and Cathy Powers.
What's happening...
. . . with The LifeTime Learning Curriculum???
"It is the purpose of GiA to enable personal development through education, training, funding assistance, and accountability." We further purpose "to educate those who wish to work by providing opportunities to learn employable skills and principles of ownership." In order to accomplish these goals, GiA is developing a LifeTime Learning Curriculum, designed to provide life and job skills in practical and adaptable ways.
The curriculum categories are repeated from the earliest elementary level through high school. It is age adapted, with additional information and depth of content offered as the child matures. The topics taught are designed to compliment, not replace, formal school education. It is vital to teach this curriculum before providing a job or starting a business. The values covered include:
Health, Hygiene, Dress, and Manners
The Value and Use of Money
Choices; Decision Making
Character & Moral Values
Looking for Love; Family Life Principles; Appropriate Love
Personality, Interest, and Skills Profiles and Development
WAYS TO PRAISE:
* The Personal Care Unit of the LifeTime Learning curriculum is three quarters finished!
* Local board members, Jim Hocking, Kurt Miller and Clive Craigen (from Chicago) have each given time and invaluable advice; I'm learning much and I'm grateful
* God has put a very needy family in my path so I can "practice what I'm preaching."
*PRAISE THE LORD for the Crown Financial K-12 program; GiA will provide this for teaching the value and use of money.
WAYS TO PRAY:
* Wisdom and excellence as I continue to research, compile and write this unit
* Grace to minister to the family God's introduced brought into my life
* God's work in the heart of someone to be the (on the ground) director of GiA
*PRAY for the right locations to run "test pilot" LifeTime Learning programs
PRAY for God's provision of grant money to purchase the materials.

. . . with A Revolving Loan Fund????
* There have been no contributions to the Loan Fund.
*Please continue to ask God for 90 donors who will give $1000. That revolving loan fund will be used to enable GiA to provide the curriculum materials to churches and groups who wish to teach the underpriviledged. Most of the fund will be a revolving loan for those who wish to begin business enterprises.
That's what's happening at GiA?
I pray that prayer is what's happening with you.
Thanks so much for your prayers!
